The air shaft with flange is primarily constructed from extruded aluminium. The aluminium profile construction ensures light design, reducing operator strain during frequent roll changes. 

Shaft expansion occurs through the inflation of bladders beneath the rulers, generating the necessary torque to drive the reels efficiently.
